Friday, which means the weekend off work! Well, for most people. For me, I’ll be pining away for Monday! There was zero time for posting yesterday. After my 12-hour 3am – 3pm workday, mama here had to take a much needed nap before meeting up with some peeps for the Taco Ride. Taco Ride was a good time, as always, and I had two friends that went for the 1st time last night. They seemed to like it so hopefully they’ll be joining me again. It’s hard to not like an exercise that involves beer drinking right? Speaking of biking and drinking, I snapped this photo last week:

The girl in the pic is a friend of mine (Jen) but check out that bike, it has a little bar on the back of it! It’s kind of hard to see, but there is even a little bar light right behind the seat. These Thursday night riders know how to have fun! Riders equip their bikes with bars, coolers, tiki torches and boom boxes, it’s a great atmosphere!
The only downer last night was Brett got a flat tire. Here is Brett and David trying to find the hole…figures they can’t find it, most guys can’t! Hey, if it weren’t for the gutter, my mind would be homeless!

What about eats for today? Breakfast of champions, a sugar free snicker latte with skim milk from Scooters. Healthy, I know, but as is usual, I was running late this morning and had no time to make a smoothie.

Unfortunately the coffee didn’t hold me over until lunch and in addition to not having time to grab breakfast, I didn’t bring snacks or lunch either! I hate being at the mercy of the vending machine. I was able to find this bag of trail mix which was halfway healthy. It had raisins, peanuts, almonds, sunflower seeds and walnuts. Better than the pack of chocolate donettes I wanted…mmmm…fake, waxy chocolate tasting donuts! I don’t even care, I like those stupid little donuts!

I was also at the mercy of the little cafeteria that we have at work. It’s pretty much impossible to find anything healthy here. For a company that promotes healthy living, you’d think there be some healthy eats here but if isn’t deep fat fried, you’re pretty much out of luck. I did manage to get some tuna salad on top of lettuce with a little pasta salad on the side. Who knows how much mayo is in the mix and iceberg lettuce is hardly a nutritional powerhouse, but I could hardly be picky today. To give it some color I threw some tomatoes and jalapenos on there. It could have been worse I suppose. I could have gotten a mound of onion rings and polished it off with a piece of carrot cake the size of my head.

I’m now off for a 10-mile run, eeeekkk! I’m a little nervous since it’s pretty warm today and I don’t want to pass out but it must be done to be ready for the half next weekend.

I meant to post again last night but it’s hard with only one computer in the house and a husband that is on the computer even more than I am. I swear he’s 36 going on 15 what with the computer games he plays.
Once again I forgot a pic of breakfast but it was an Erin Baker’s oatmeal cookie. They’re pretty good and work great when I’m running late…which is pretty much every morning. I was late the day they were handing out punctuality as a personality trait.
I did get a picture of my midmorning snack:

Lunch was a repeat of yesterday sans yogurt. I know, I’m super exciting:

Gawd the lighting is horrible but I don’t want to use a flash. I’m afraid if my co-workers see me taking pictures of my food, they’re going to start thinking that some village is missing it’s idiot.
I also had TWO snacks today. Here’s a pic of the kudos snickers…I had it open and half eaten before I remembered to take a snapshot of it. I didn’t even look at the ingredients, it says “snickers” on it and 100 calories, I couldn’t help myself! It was tiny but yummy!

I also had some popcorn from Vic’s. I used to be ADDICTED to their cheese popcorn and there was a Vic’s right across the street from our office. Thankfully, we’ve moved and it’s only an occasional indulgence now. No, I did not eat that whole bag, just a few handfuls.

For dinner last night I wasn’t especially hungry so I just snacked on a few things. I had some PB (ground honey peanuts from Whole Foods), banana honey toast, one of my top 5 fave foods before my FOUR mile run…that’s a long way for me!

I had some brussel sprouts to burn cook before they went bad:

And as a little treat I had an Izze. Oh I love these things! I’m sure they’d be even better with a little vodka in them but I try to keep the drinking down to 5 nights a week
Seriously though, if you haven’t tried these, go buy some! Clementine and Blackberry flavors are my fave but they have a ton of others.

All right, it’s time to wrap this up. I’m going to go for a run and then we’re going on the Taco Ride at 6pm tonight. I’ll post about that tomorrow!
