Yesterday I managed to post that sweet Oprah video but when I came back later to post about Sunday’s foods, my computer pooped out. I’ve been complaining about this POS for a while but still haven’t bought a new one. I cringe every time I have to use this thing and waiting for it to load pics and open web pages is possibly worse than listening to the Jonas brothers. Oh well, a new computer is on the list.
Here’s Sundays eats:

It probably looks like I’m about the last person in the blog world to try these Amazing grass products, but I have had some of them before. This berry flavor is new to me though so I picked up a little trial packet and added it to my green smoothie which also contained:
- Banana
- Frozen peaches
- Mango
- Acai berry juice
- Spinach
- Vanilla protein powder (EAS brand)
Thumbs up on the Amazing Grass addition. Lunch was just a salad, one you’ve seen on here many times. I didn’t get a pic but I must talk about this dressing though. It’s GOOD. I’ve been a big fan of Whole Foods Italian dressing for a while and once I find a good dressing, I really don’t stray but I’d been eyeing this one for a while. SO GLAD I tried it, it’s awesome! It’s so good I could almost drink it with every meal and there was a time when that was only reserved for gravy.

Here’s the description:
“Creamy tahini mingles with lemon, soy sauce and chives creating this well-loved dressing.” Go try it now!
I had grand plans of coming home and doing something with sweet potatoes but this sight greeted me when I walked in the door:

Not much cooking going on in the kitchen that night! Todd had to paint some trim that was still unfinished so he brought me back this Mediterranean sammich from Panera:

Oh, I also finished off this little bag of goodies….um yeah, I bought these Saturday, whoops! I love ‘em though! Restraint is not my middle name so I can’t have these in the house too often.

I didn’t work out Sunday but did manage a run on Monday. I had a great run Friday but Monday’s run….not so much. I barely eeeked out 2 miles. I had a side stitch about 3 laps in around the track and I barely get those so I’m not sure what my deal was. I just wasn’t feeling it. Perhaps because I didn’t eat much on Monday? I cleaned my house ALL day and sometimes when I’m at home all day, I just don’t get hungry. I had a couple of cups of coffee and a veggie burger later in the afternoon and that was it. Veggie burger compliments of Amy’s All American burger on a sandwich thin with hummus and a slice of chipotle cheddar cheese…way better than Boca…

All right, I hear old episodes of The Office in the other room. I’d better go check it out. Good night!

Gawd, I haven’t posted in a while! I’m so lazy! I wish I were a little more Type A, I’d get more done. The weather is just too nice out for me to be anal about anything, I’d rather be outside playing! Speaking of nice, it’s 88 degrees here today, bring on the summertime!
I met my friend for a 4 mile run, of which I didn’t do very well. Must be the humidity? I’ll blame it on that anyway. I’m trying to follow a training plan as I do believe I’m signing up for this half next month. I haven’t signed up yet and the husband keeps calling me a wuss and that I just need to do it. I’m just scared as I’ve NEVER ran that far before. I don’t even drive that far to work! I did an 8 mile run last week and it went really well so I’m hoping I’ll be prepared for it. I have a 9-mile run scheduled for Thursday, eeek!
With all of this running I’ve been doing, my poor old Nike Air Max 90 shoes need to be retired. They’re not used to so much use! I have had them a while though and it was time to replace. 2 weeks ago I strayed from Nike and bought the gel Nimbus Asics shoe. I hadn’t done any research and thought I’d just buy some Nikes again. Unfortunately the store I went to had Nike Air Max shoes but they were $159 and that’s about $50 more than what I wanted to spend. So I thought I’d try the Asics as I’ve heard they’re excellent shoes. My husband has some and really likes them. Thankfully the Finish Line has this 15-day return policy. Meaning you actually get to wear the shoes for two whole weeks and if you don’t like them you can take them back. What a rockin’ exchange policy! So it’s what I did with these Asics. My feet didn’t hurt as bad in my old Nikes as they did in these shoes. My toes hurt, my arches hurt, even my ankles hurt. And I got a blister on my 8 mile run on the inside of my right foot. I’ve worn them almost every day for two weeks hoping they just needed more breaking in (I hate returning stuff) but they never got better. Guess I’ve learned not to stray from what I’m used to! Here’s a pic of the new babies:

They’re the Nike Air Max Tailwind style. I really don’t like getting shoes with so much white as they’re impossible to keep clean but they’re really comfy and didn’t have any other color options so I’ll just make do.
As far as food today, I started this morning off with a green smoothie that included:
*Banana
*Pineapple
*Blueberries
*Blueberry juice
*Spinach
*Flaxseed
*Scoop of Perfect Food

After my run is when I ran to the mall to return my shoes. I was starving so I headed home and heated up some leftover Curry Tempeh Tacos from a couple of nights ago. I got this recipe a while ago from a magazine out of Vegetarian Times. These are so good and easy to make. I added a little feta cheese which the recipe doesn’t call for but cheese of any kind makes anything better.

I’ll have to wrap this up for now. I’m off to shower, find a birthday gift and take my friend to birthday dinner. Oh, and do some laundry, don’t be jealous!
