Not many people say that but it’s my day off and I am exhausted! I’ve barely been near a computer (besides work) since I’ve been so busy! Let’s start with where I left off on Friday…
I did not run 5 miles, unfortunately I only made 4. Eh, you win some, you lose some I suppose. And this weekend I didn’t run at. all. I also didn’t eat any dinner on Friday. I wasn’t hungry, which is just so weird! I received a call from work at 9pm to work some overtime. Since I still have to cover my job from 7am until 3pm on Saturday, going into work at 11pm is too much but I told them I would come in at 3am. So I went in at 3am, driving through town at 2:30 in the morning, wistfully watching the drunktards in the drive thru at McDonald’s and Taco Bell, wondering if I’ll ever find a job with weekends off again!
After working 12 hours then on Saturday, I went home, showered, chugged a Red Bull and met up with friends downtown at the Summer Arts Festival. And I have NO PICS from Saturday. I must have deleted them thinking they were from Friday or something. I’m not sure, Saturday involved a lot of beers.

See that cup that I have a death grip on with my arm? I had a Raspberry Ale from the Upstream and 2 Vanilla Porters from the Nebraska Brewing Company. Both were very good beers! I’ve become a bit of a beer snob and was very happy to see it wasn’t just Bud Light on the menu. I also grabbed a veggie wrap from the Whole Foods tent. And a bite of funnel cake from my friend on the far right. It was awesome! I love funnl cakes but didn’t feel like having a heart attack and preferred to drink all of my calories that evening!
After the arts festival we headed over to Ameristar casino to listen to a band and I had a couple of Blue Moons over there. I regretted this in the morning, trust. 615am came and bitch slapped me right in the face. Work was miserable from lack of sleep Friday and Saturday and about 2 too many beers from Saturday’s shenanigans. Oh, AND I stayed for more overtime Sunday afternoon and worked a 16-hr shift. It’s days like yesterday when I wonder if I’ll ever learn my lesson and limit myself to 2 drinks and being home by 11! Sunday morning required a green smoothie, I felt the need for something healthy after Saturday night!

The smoothie mix contained the usual:
- Spinach
- Banana
- Strawberries
- Blueberries
- Mango
- Coconut/Pineapple juice
- Mila
- Perfect food
Green smoothie totally hit the spot! Due to my lack of sleep I was also in desperate need of caffeine. I walked up the block from work to a coffeehouse called Aroma’s and ordered up an iced Cinnamon coffee and also split a yummy little dessert with my co-worker. I’m not sure what it was but it had chocolate chips and coconut in it. ‘Nuff said, right?

Since I stayed out late Saturday playing like I was 21 again, I did not have time to make lunch so a run to Chipotle was in order where I got a burrito bowl with:
- Rice
- Black Beans
- Grilled pepper and onion
- Corn
- Salsa
- Tomatoes
- Cheese
- Sour Cream
Again, no pic (makes documenting what I’ve eaten a little difficult, eh?) but it was pretty gi-normous. Aaaannnnd, I ate it all! Dinner had to be found at work in our crappy cafeteria where I got a grilled cheese on wheat…yet another healthy choice for Sunday’s eats, no? I really couldn’t stand the thought of iceberg lettuce with some non-home-grown tomato and Hidden Valley Ranch dressing on top of it. Since that’s the only somewhat healthy menu item to be found.
I think I’m finally back to normal today and will post today’s eats later on this evening….hope everyone had a great Monday so far!
