Yesterday I managed to post that sweet Oprah video but when I came back later to post about Sunday’s foods, my computer pooped out. I’ve been complaining about this POS for a while but still haven’t bought a new one. I cringe every time I have to use this thing and waiting for it to load pics and open web pages is possibly worse than listening to the Jonas brothers. Oh well, a new computer is on the list.
Here’s Sundays eats:

It probably looks like I’m about the last person in the blog world to try these Amazing grass products, but I have had some of them before. This berry flavor is new to me though so I picked up a little trial packet and added it to my green smoothie which also contained:
- Banana
- Frozen peaches
- Mango
- Acai berry juice
- Spinach
- Vanilla protein powder (EAS brand)
Thumbs up on the Amazing Grass addition. Lunch was just a salad, one you’ve seen on here many times. I didn’t get a pic but I must talk about this dressing though. It’s GOOD. I’ve been a big fan of Whole Foods Italian dressing for a while and once I find a good dressing, I really don’t stray but I’d been eyeing this one for a while. SO GLAD I tried it, it’s awesome! It’s so good I could almost drink it with every meal and there was a time when that was only reserved for gravy.

Here’s the description:
“Creamy tahini mingles with lemon, soy sauce and chives creating this well-loved dressing.” Go try it now!
I had grand plans of coming home and doing something with sweet potatoes but this sight greeted me when I walked in the door:

Not much cooking going on in the kitchen that night! Todd had to paint some trim that was still unfinished so he brought me back this Mediterranean sammich from Panera:

Oh, I also finished off this little bag of goodies….um yeah, I bought these Saturday, whoops! I love ‘em though! Restraint is not my middle name so I can’t have these in the house too often.

I didn’t work out Sunday but did manage a run on Monday. I had a great run Friday but Monday’s run….not so much. I barely eeeked out 2 miles. I had a side stitch about 3 laps in around the track and I barely get those so I’m not sure what my deal was. I just wasn’t feeling it. Perhaps because I didn’t eat much on Monday? I cleaned my house ALL day and sometimes when I’m at home all day, I just don’t get hungry. I had a couple of cups of coffee and a veggie burger later in the afternoon and that was it. Veggie burger compliments of Amy’s All American burger on a sandwich thin with hummus and a slice of chipotle cheddar cheese…way better than Boca…

All right, I hear old episodes of The Office in the other room. I’d better go check it out. Good night!
Workout Song Wednesday May 20, 2009

Happy Hump Day to most everyone. It’s the beginning of my week so it’s Monday, blah. For the workout song this week, I’m not exactly posting a song I work out to although they’ve got some good work out tunes. The band is Everclear, anyone remember them? They’re coming to Oma-hell (to this bar) this weekend on Sunday and I bought tickets to go see them. I forgot how much I used to like them! Their songs take me back to the high school days – I graduated in ’97, I know, I’m old. In fact, the song “Everything” came out in 1997. I wanted to post a video of theirs on here but youtube has the embed function disabled which blows, but here’s links to a couple of their songs I’m jammin’ to now:
“Santa Monica”
“I Will Buy You a New Life”
“Father of Mine”
Let the summer concert series begin! I love live music and have seen tons of concerts. Here’s some of them:
Vanilla Ice (don’t laugh, I was in 6th grade)
Aerosmith – twice
Metallica
Kiss
New Kids on the Block – just last year, it was great!
Godsmack – 3 times. They’re my fave!
Breaking Benjamin – twice
Nickelback
Big Head Todd and the Monsters – twice
John Butler Trio
Leann Rimes
Stone Temple Pilots
Foo Fighters
Ratt – at a strip bar no less!
Brett Michaels
Matchbox Twenty – twice. Great band live
Nine Inch Nails – twice
Cher – hey, I took my mom
Tesla
Prince
The Samples
Cake
Blue October
Doobie Brothers
Chris Cornell
I know there are more but I drink a lot and can’t remember things
Anyway, on to food…
Breakfast was a smoothie, surprise, surprise! It included:
*Pineapple
*Mango
*Spinach
*Blueberry juice
*Banana
*Flax
*Perfect Food

Oh, and this tomato…a little weird for breakfast I know, but I couldn’t fit the whole thing in for my salad I got ready for lunch.

Midmorning snack wasn’t the healthiest but eh, you win some, you lose some:
A handful of yummy jalapeno cheddar soynuts:

And a little bit of popcorn:

Lunch was the leftover curry rice from Thai Spice…sooo good even the next day. There wasn’t much green in it though so I added a salad of spinach, tomato, green onion, feta cheese and a little bit of pumpkin seeds covered up in some Annie’s Red Pepper Dressing, yum!

After work I had to go visit my dad and then off to the gym. It was a cross training day today so 20 minutes on the elliptical and just 10 on the stairstepper with some weights. That stairstepper thing kicks my ass and I sweat all over the place, it’s disgusting really. No, on second thought, what’s disgusting is the way the gym smelled today. Seriously, it’s pretty humid around here and I know stores sell deodorant in this town. The smell was so bad in one spot, my eyes watered, I swear. After walking through that funk, I go into the locker room and apparently someone had died in there too as it smelled like an outhouse. I mean really. The locker room isn’t super tiny and the toilets are far from the door. It smelled like someone doodied on the floor. Not only were my eyeballs about to pop out, then all my nose hair gets burned off from that smell. Ugh I don’t like the gym when it’s nice out!
So, after the stinky gym, I was STARVING (I know, how can I be hungry after the horrid smells, really nothing kills my appetite!). I came home and need to get through some more veggies so I made a sweet potato, of course with Earth Balance buttah, and some cucumbers and radishes on the side. Oh and hummus, can’t eat those veggies plain!

Time for bed, I have a 9-mile run scheduled tomorrow and it’s Taco Thursday!
